Use of Language:
A prepositional phrase refers to a preposition, its object, and any modifiers. The object of a prepositional phrase can be either a noun, gerund, or clause. Prepositional phrases can govern more than one word - they can govern any words that modify or describe the object of the preposition, too.
1. Underline the prepositional phrases in the excerpt from the story.
The woman slept soundly that night, curled up under a large tree with a blanket to keep her warm. As she slept, a strange dream came to her. In the dream, she was inside the anthill, surrounded by cheering ants. The queen ant stepped forward majestically. "Do not be afraid," she reassured the woman. "We have brought you here to thank you for saving our home and our lives. In return, if you ever need our help, all you need do is call for us, and we will hear you and come to your aid". As the dream faded and the woman began to wake, she heard the queen ant's voice calling after her, distinctly saying, "We are all one".

Ans: Recent news shows an alarming increase in media coverage of animal cruelty around the world. From pets to wild animals, animals are subjected to abuse and cruelty.
Last week, a video surfaced online showing a group of people mistreating a helpless dog. The photos quickly spread online, sparking outrage and condemnation from animal activists and concerned individuals.
Similarly, there have been reports of poaching and illegal hunting, with endangered species such as elephants, rhinos, and tigers being targeted for their ivory, horns, and fur. This illegal trade not only threatens the survival of these beautiful animals but also leads to crime and corruption.
Animal welfare organizations work tirelessly to raise awareness of the importance of treating animals with compassion and respect. They are also pushing for stricter laws and penalties for those who abuse animals. It is time for us to understand the importance of animal health and to stand against this bad practice.
