Q.A. What does the three R mean?

Ans:

The three R’s are known as:

Recycling: the action or process of converting waste into reusable material.
Reduce: make smaller or less in amount, degree, or size.
Reuse: use again or more than once.

Q.B. Why should we recycle?

Ans:

Recycling is a way to reduce the amount of garbage that is thrown away. The garbage is sent to landfills, where some of it pollutes the land air. As a result of recycling, some things that would have been thrown away are reused instead of in new products.

Q.C. What are the two types of recycling operations? Explain in your own words.

Ans:

There are two types of recycling operations:

Internal recycling operations
Externalrecycling operations

1. Internal recycling operations

In internal recycling, an industry reclaims materials that are waste products of a manufacturing process and reuses them within the same process. Internal recycling is common in the metals industry.

2. External recycling operations

External recycling is the reclaiming of materials from a product that has been worn out or rendered obsolete. An example of external recycling is the collection of old newspapers and magazines for the manufacture of newsprint and other paper products.

Q.D. List down the things that can be reduced, reused, and recycled?

Ans:

The following things can be reused, recycled, and reduced:

Reduced

Compositing your veggies.

Reused

Glass jars, plastic bottles, clothes, cars, etc.

Recycled

Plastic bottles: shampoo and conditioner, detergent and softener, drink, juice, etc.

Q.5. What benefits can recycling do to the environment?

Ans:

Recycling prevents global warming. By means of reprocessing, there come some energy savings, which causes less greenhouse gas emissions and it is among the key benefits of reprocessing.
