Sentence: A sentence is a set (or group) of words that is complete in itself to mean something. It typically contains a subject and predicate (Verb and Object). It can be a statement, exclamation, command, or question, and can be the main clause and sometimes consisting of one or more subordinate clauses Example: 1. We love Pakistan. 2. Pak Army is the greatest of all. Types of Sentences 1. Simple Sentence: A sentence that has one (subject + predicate) Examples: 1. Twenty Freeport citizens protested against smoking. 2. Pak Army defeated terrorism. 2. Compound Sentence: Two complete sentences joined by a comma + coordinating conjunction. A compound sentence is made up of two independent clauses connected by a coordinating conjunction.
