Comprehension Passage No. 3 (for practice)

Q1. Read the following passage and answer the questions. (National Book Foundation (page: 08))

There were dark clouds in the sky. I took an umbrella and walked to the market. I bought an ice cream from a shop. I saw a cat near a tree outside that shop. She looked hungry. I bought a packet of biscuits and broke them into pieces. Then I gave these biscuits to her. She ate them thankfully.

 

1) Answer the following questions:

Q1. How was the day?

Ans: The day was cloudy. Or There were dark clouds in the sky.

Q2. Who looked hungrily?

Ans: The cat looked hungry.

Q. How did the cat eat the biscuits?

Ans: She ate them thankfully.

2) Do as directed:

1) There were dark clouds in the sky. (change into negative) 

There were no dark clouds in the sky.

ii) I bought milk from the shop. (Tick/Cross)

iii) I bought an ice cream from a shop. (underline a compound noun)

iv) She looked _________. (sad/hungry) (Choose the correct option) 

v) I saw a cat near a tree outside that shop. (complete)

vi) Cat she/her (write pronoun used for cat)

3) write three examples of words having suffixes from the passage.

Ans:

1) thankfully

2) ice-cream

3) outdoor
