Comprehension Passage No. 5 (for practice)

Q1. Read the following passage and answer the questions. (National Book Foundation (page: 67))

There was a mouse who had always lived on land. By chance, he met a frog, who lived in water for most of his life. The mouse showed the frog around the little hole he lived in and every beautiful thing in it. The frog invited the mouse to come along to see the wonderful underwater world.

 

1) Answer the following questions:

Q: Where does a mouse live?

Ans: A mouse lives on land.

Q: Who invited the frog to come and see the underwater world?

Ans: The frog invited the mouse to this.

Q: Where does a frog live?

Ans. It lives in water for most of its life.  

2) Do as directed:

i) A frog lived on land. (Tick/Cross)

ii) The mouse showed the frog the little hole (underline adjective)

ii) wonderful Underwater (Give two examples of the compound noun)

iv) There was a mouse. (change into interrogative)

Ans: Was there a mouse? 

v) The frog invited the mouse. (Encircle verb)

vi) life  death (Give opposite)

3) Write one example of each:

verb: met     adjective: Wonderful    noun: frog
