"Map Skills and Globe"


Q1. Define lines of latitude? 

Ans: The imaginary lines that are drawn as parallels on a map or globe from East to West are called Latitude.

 

Q2. Define lines of Longitude? 

Ans. The imaginary lines that are drawn on a globe or map from North to South are called Longitude. 


Q3. What is meant by the Equator and Prime Meridian?

Ans. 

Equator: The 0° Latitude is known as the Equator.


Prime Meridian: The 0° longitude is called Prime Meridian.

"Physical Features of Pakistan"


Q1. Define physical region.

Ans: Physical region means high mountain ranges beautiful valleys, fertile plains, vast deserts, and plateau & coastal areas 


Q2. Write the names of the physical regions of Pakistan.

Ans. Different physical regions of Pakistan:

1. Mountain Range:

i. Northern Mountain Range

ii. North Western Mountain Range. 

iii. Western Mountain Rang


2: Plateaus:

i. Pothohar Plateau 

ii. Baluchistan Plateau 


3. Plains

i. upper Indus Plain

ii lower Indus Plain 


4. Deserts:

i. Thal

ii. Thar

ii. Kharan


5. Coastal Areas:

i. Karachi Porti

ii. Port Qasim 

iii. Gawadar Port


Q3. Write the names of the important rivers of the Baluchistan Plateau.

Ans. The names of the important rivers of the Baluchistan Plateau are:

 i. Zob. ii. Porali iii. Hongol iv. Hub v. Dasht 


Q4. Write three sentences about K2.

Ans: 

i. K2 is the highest peak in Pakistan and the second-highest peak in the World.

ii. Its height is 2611 meters. 

iii. It is also called Godwin Austin because its first surveyor was Godwin Austin.


Q5. What is the significance of the Gawadar Port? 

Ans: The Port of Gawadar will be an important hub of Pakistan's economic activities in the future. This port is an important part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor 


"Weather and Climate"


Q1. Define weather and climate.

Ans: 

Weather:- The state of the surrounding environment at a particular place and time is called Weather 

Climate:- When average weather persists in a place for a long time, it is called climate.


Q2. Write any two effects of human activities on climate.

Ans:

i. Factories use fuels such as gasoline and gas, which combine to release carbon dioxide and other toxic gases into the atmosphere.

ii. Smoke from cars and factories increases the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide is believed to be a major cause of Global Warming.


Q3. What are natural disasters? Write few examples.

Ans:

Natural disasters: Natural factors and events that cause damage to human life and property and other forms of life are called natural disasters? 

Examples: cyclones, landslides, earthquakes, and floods.



"Population"


Q.1. What is meant by population growth rate?

Ans: The annual increase in the population of a country or region is called the Population Growth Rate.


Q2. What is population density?

Ans: The total number of people living in one square kilometer is called its population density 


Q3. How is population density determined? 

Ans: Dividing the total population by the total area can determine the population density. 

 Population Density = Total Population / Total Area
