Present tense -- فعل حال
i) Present Indefinite tense / Simple Present tense:
(فعل حال غیر معینہ مدت / فعل حال سادہ )
Present habit, any work done on a regular or daily basis.
⇒[Subject + first form of verb + object]
⇒[We do not add s or es to the first from of verb when I, we, you, they, plural name are used in sentence of present indefinite tense]
⇒[we use do for I, we, you, they, plural name in a question or negative Sentence]
Examples in English and Urdu:
1) I sleep every day.
میں ہر روز سوتا ہوں۔
I do not sleep every day. {Negative}
میں ہر روزنہیں سوتا ہوں۔ یا مجھے ہر روز نیند نہیں آتی ۔
Do I sleep every day? {Interrogative}
کیا میں ہر روزسوتا ہوں۔ یا کیا مجھے ہر روز نیند آتی ہے؟
2) They like football.
انہیں فٹ بال پسند ہے۔
They do not like football. {Negative}
انہیں فٹ بال پسند نہیں ہے۔
Do they like football? {Interrogative}
کیا وہ فٹ بال پسند کرتے ہیں؟
3) We sleep at night.
ہم رات کو سوتے ہیں۔
We do not sleep at night. {Negative}
ہمیں رات کو نیند نہیں آتی۔
Do we sleep at night? {Interrogative}
کیا ہم رات کو سوتے ہیں؟
⇒[when He, she, it, singular name are used in sentence of present indefinite tense we add s or es to verb]
⇒[For He, she, it, singular name, we use does and s or es are removed from verb in a question or negative sentence ]
Examples:
4) He likes (like + s) apples.
He does not like apples. (es is removed from verb)
کیا اسے سیب پسند ہیں؟
5) Sara goes (go + es) to school.
Sara does not go to school.
Does Sara go to school?
کیا سارہ اسکول جاتی ہے؟
6) The sun rises.
The sun does not rise.
Does the sun rise?
کیا سورج طلوع ہوتا ہے؟
