Dressing a Wound

Q. Write five steps in sequence for dressing a wound.

Ans:

i. Clean the wound with saline water.

ii. Press the sterile bandage on the wound to stop bleeding.

iii. When bleeding stops, place a gauze swab on the wound.

iv. Take another swab and add a few drops of Pyodine to it and place it on the swab already placed on the wound.

v. Apply a bandage over the wound and dress it up properly.

Shifting a person to a hospital

Q. What steps should be taken for shifting an injured person to the hospital?

Ans:

Step 1:

Support and shift the injured person to some safe place.

Step 2:

Check if there is any bleeding or fracture at any part of his/her body. Apply a bandage to stop/reduce bleeding.

Step 3:

Call an emergency ambulance service to shift the injured person to a nearby hospital.

Step 4:

On arrival of an ambulance, shift the person in it.

Step 5:

Inform the relatives of the injured person about the hospital he/she is being shifted to.

Fire Drill

Q. What is the emergency procedure to follow during the Fire.

Ans:

i. We should be able to recognize the fire alarm.

ii. On hearing the fire alarm, we should stop what we are doing.

iii. Make a line behind the teacher and exit the building.

iv. Stand outside away from the building/classroom.

v. Ask the staff if you need help.
