Ans: ClassificationThe arrangement of organisms into different groups on the basis of similarities and differences is called classification.

Importance of Classification:

1. It provides us a good picture of all living things.

2. It gives us information about the interrelationships among different organisms.

3. It helps to identify newly discovered organisms.

Q(iii).  Write the differences between:

Ans:

(a) Insects and  Worms

Insects:

Worms:
1. Insects have a hard external Structure which is called exoskeleton.

1. Worms are soft body animals.

 2. They have a segmented body.

2. They have a round and cylindrical body.

 3. They have six or three pairs of legs.

3. They have no legs.

 Examples: Honey bee, Mosquito

 Example: Earthworm, Flatworm

(b) Amphibians and Reptiles

Reptiles:
1. They have moist skin.

1. They have thick coarse and dry skin.

Q(v). Write one characteristic and one example of Monera and Protista.

Ans:

Monera:

These organisms are made of one cell. Their structure is also very simple.

Example: Bacteria

Ans: Thousands of blood vessels make up the animal's ears. These vessels allow the excess body heat to escape the elephant's body and regulate its body temperature. Their big ears are also used as fans to cool off their bodies.

4. "Investigate"

Q.1 Investigate the factors responsible for the extinction of biodiversity.

Ans: The following are some factors that are responsible for the extinction of biodiversity

(i) Pollution (ii) habitat loss (iii) introduction of invasive Species (iv) Overexploitation of preferred species (v) climate change (vi) natural disaster change

Q2. Give an example of extinct and endangered animals. Investigate which animals are most likely to be extinct in the near future.
