Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed guests, and fellow students,

Good (Morning/Afternoon/Evening) (say it according to the occasion)

Today, I stand before you to pay tribute to one of the greatest thinkers, poets, and philosophers of the 20th century, Allama Muhammad Iqbal. His life and work have left an indelible mark on the world, and his ideas continue to inspire generations.

Dear Fellows!

Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal was born on November 9, 1877, in Sialkot, British India (now in Pakistan), Iqbal emerged as a beacon of enlightenment during a period of great social and political upheaval. He received his education in Lahore and later traveled to Europe to pursue higher studies in philosophy and law. These experiences abroad greatly influenced his intellectual development, and he returned to his homeland with a vision of awakening the Muslim world from its slumber.

Worthily Audience!

Allama Iqbal's poetry, infused with profound philosophical insights and a deep spiritual connection, played a pivotal role in inspiring the struggle for independence in the Indian subcontinent. He envisioned a united and empowered Muslim community, emphasizing the importance of self-discovery and individual growth. His famous poem "لَب پِہ آتی ہَے دُعا بَن کے تَمَنّا مِری"  encourages young minds to dream big and strive for their goals.

Iqbal's concept of "Khudi" or selfhood urged individuals to recognize their inner potential and harness it for the betterment of society. He believed that through self-realization and self-empowerment, individuals could contribute to the collective progress of the community. In this respect, his ideas were not just limited to the realm of poetry but extended to social and political philosophy as well.

Iqbal's influence transcended national borders, and his call for Muslim unity resonated not only in India but also in other parts of the world where Muslims were struggling for their rights and identity. His famous poem "Tarana-e-Milli" encouraged Muslims to unite and work towards common goals.

Worthily Judges!

In addition to his literary and philosophical contributions, Allama Iqbal was a prominent advocate for the rights of Muslims in British India. He played a crucial role in shaping the political discourse of his time, contributing to the eventual creation of Pakistan as a separate homeland for Muslims in 1947.

Iqbal's legacy continues to inspire us today. His ideas on self-discovery, spiritual awakening, and the empowerment of the individual remain relevant in a world marked by rapid change and uncertainty. His call for unity, not just among Muslims but among all people, serves as a timeless reminder of the importance of cooperation and understanding in a diverse and interconnected world.

In conclusion, Allama Muhammad Iqbal was not merely a poet; he was a philosopher, a visionary, and a catalyst for change. His poetry and philosophy continue to guide us on a path of self-discovery, unity, and progress. As we reflect on his life and work, let us remember his words:

خودی کو کر بلند اتنا کہ ہر تقدیر سے پہلے

خدا بندے سے خود پوچھے بتا تیری رضا کیا ہے

(Elevate yourself to such heights that even before destiny intervenes, God Himself asks, 'What is it that you desire?).

Thank you for your attention. Let us continue to draw inspiration from Allama Iqbal's legacy and strive for a brighter and more harmonious future. In last, I would like to end my speech with a poetry of Iqbal.
