ADVERB:
It is a word that adds something to the meaning of a verb, adjective, and adverb.
Examples:
1. He walks slowly.
2. He runs fast.
3. He is very intelligent.
4. It is absolutely correct.
Kinds of Adverb.
1. Adverb of Time:
These are the adverb that answers the question of when.
Examples:
1. He did not go to school today.
2. He talked to me yesterday
3. He will come tonight.
4. I saw him thin
2. Adverb of Place:
These are the adverb that answers the question of where.
Examples:
1. He has gone abroad.
2. They came down.
3. He went up.
4. They went away.
3. Adverb of Manners:
1. He does his work carefully.
2. He treats everybody kindly.
3. He solved the sum easily.
4. He ran fast.
5. He talked to me rudely.
6. He behaved foolishly.
7. It rained heavily.
4. Adverb of Frequency:
These are the adverbs that answer the question of how often.
Examples:
1. He came to me once.
2. I visited him twice.
3. We often go for a walk.
4. He never tells a lie.
5. He is usually late.
6. He is always on time.
5. Adverb of Degree:
These are the adverbs that answer the question of how far.
Examples:
1. He nearly lost the match.
2. He almost finished his work.
3. They were very tired.
4. He only smiled.
5. He is fairly good at English.
6. He was too tired.
5. Interrogative Adverbs:
They are why, when, where, and how. When they are used in a single sentence, they are called interrogative adverbs.
For example:
1. When are you coming?
2. Why are you laughing?
3. Where are you going?
4. How are you?
