Ans: Greek achievements in architecture:
Three architectural achievements that the Greeks had were: the columns, the Archimedean Screw and the Pulleys. Each of these aspects still affects our world today. These developments in Greek architecture, have had a lasting impact on our world. In science, the Greeks had so much influence on the early concepts of science that most symbols often used in Physics and higher math equations are derived from the Greek alphabet. Aristotle gave us the idea of the Earth being a globe. He also classified animals and is often referred to as the Father of Zoology.
Q2. Who was Alexander the Great Describe his encounter with Raja Porus?
Ans: Alexander III of Macedon, also known as Alexander the Great, ascended to his throne in 336 BC. He dominated most of the known world at that time. He is also known as " the Great " for his conquest as well as his diplomatic talent in dealing with the people of the lands he conquered. Alexander conquered Greece, Persia, Syria and Egypt and incorporated them into his empire. Alexander advanced Indian Punjab in 327 BC where various tribes surrendered to him. King Porus, whose Kingdom was located between the river Jhelum and Chenab, had one of the bravest armies of his time. When Porus was compelled to surrender before Alexander he refused to recognize Alexander's power and challenged him to a battle Porus resisted Alexander successfully and the battle remained indecisive.
Alexander chose peace over war, and the kingdom was returned to Porus. Alexander was amazed by the boldness and valour of this Indian king.

Ans: Among the many legacies of Rome that impacted the world's culture and civilization, the emergence of Christianity as a major world religion was the most significant. The teachings of Jesus Christ were based on peace, forgiveness, love, and equality. Through the Mediterranean, Christianity spread to Egypt, North Africa, Syria, Turkey and Greece. Rome eventually became the centre of Christianity. The impact of Christianity could be seen in the social, religious and Political life of Rome. Romans believed in one god and that was not the ruler. Churches were built throughout the empire. It was legal to worship according to Christianity.
